Still Life - Interface Wooden Coaster

The starting point of “Still Life · Interface” is not decoration, but “contact.”

The main body is made from dark solid wood, compressed into the most basic flat structure. The hand-rubbed coloring process does not attempt to cover the wood grain. Instead, it allows the color to slowly sink into the material, preserving the natural direction of the wood and its uneven variations in depth and tone.

When a cup is placed down, temperature, weight, and time briefly meet on this small interface. Its existence is simply to quietly receive that process.

The stainless steel cross embedded within it is not a decorative symbol. It is more like a coordinate mark, reminding us of boundary, order, and the proper distance between objects.
