“Still Life · The Rift” was born from a simple idea: whether it is possible to preserve a quiet area in daily life that is not consumed by emotion.

The whole piece uses a matte black body as its main form, like a piece of night that has been cut away. The brushed stainless steel panel on the top is the only part that actively reflects light. It does not serve as decoration, but takes on the role of the “rift,” allowing daily consumption to happen from this opening.

The moment a tissue is pulled out is not simply the completion of a function, but a brief act of disappearance.

The pure silver cross on the side is not a religious symbol, but a coordinate: a reminder of order, restraint, and boundary.

What this piece attempts to express is that life does not need to speak everywhere. Some things only need to exist quietly.
